Tense Final in the heat of Ponty park and Aber valley deservedly retained the trophy...ynysddu keeper pulled off a few excellnt saves to keep his side in with a chance. Enjoyed the game (unlike last seasons as they beat my old lot)just a pity how it ended. Excellent 2c that every1's concern was with player. Superbly organised again credit all involved.
ps surprised 2c goughy not involved anymore.

David Berry is now home from hospital where he had to have pins and plates inserted into his ankle as it was broken in 2 places.

My personal good wishes and those of the Amateur League are conveyed to him for a good and speedy recovery.

Really looking forward to the W John Owen Cup Final this Saturday. Echoing a few of the comments on the guestbook, both Aber and Ynysddu are good footballing sides, and should make for an entertaining and exciting final. The weather forecast looks excellent - sunny and 24 degrees, although I'm not sure that the players would agree! An excellent choice of venue by the League - a very good ground, close to both clubs, so can expect a large crowd, with partisan followings for both clubs. To Clive & Phil, and all our players, well done on a very good season (5th placed league finish) and the best of luck on Saturday, when we try and land the Cup for the very first time, in this our 'Diamond Jubilee' year.

Looking forward to the cup final sat, it would be nice to win especially after the problems we have had this season particularly regarding injuries. We know it will be a hard game with ynysddu but we also know it should be a good game as they like to play football like ourselves.

Congratulations to all connected with AFC Porth on your fantastic ahievement of winning the league unbeaten. I was fortunate enough to be in the Hoovers team that did the same in 1994-95 so know what it means to all associated with the club. Well done all, good luck for next season.

Crikey if ever there was a game of 2 halves, 2-0 up at ht through Davies,Orchard, could have been 4/5 chance after chance went begging.
Yynsddu changed it around and we were hanging on in the end, mind u the ref handnt read the script tidy he gave the customary penalty but against us.. only joking Tony.thanks to Yynsddu close but we went through the league season unbeaten well done to Paul and all the boys.

Mike Evans: Nice to see you there yesterday Mike. Ken and I will be up in Ponty next Saturday for the cup final so get the kettle on!! Hard fought game yesterday against Blaen. 1-1 a fair result I reckon. Cracking club and a good bunch of boys - very best of luck for next season. Does anyone know when and where the S.W. Senior cup final is?

Well done to everyone who manage promotion but a special mention to Tony Smith and staff of Splott Albion, who in just two years has turned the club around with a very young good football side. Ever side will have its knocks but to earn a runners up spot in two years is excellent and hopefully in the near future have new pitch in our area.

A Hard season over......glad 2c it end in honesty!! Div 2 been very topsy turvey..Bargoed had a terrible start but having played them recently they were a solid outfit & form since december takes them up -Well Done... Splot may be contoversial as avoided any punishement and also given 3 points for a game abonded mid way in 1st half...in truth they are good footballing side & points won shown they deserve the promotion. Having played Blaen and Brynna recently can imagine they both gutted at losing out and no doubting these will be the teams to beat next season - Rhoose well Good Ridance I played em4 times and despite close games they were a cut above all season & could do what trefelin achieved or even 1 spot better next year (got 2b a good outside bet?)......WELL DONE to ALL.....

Any news on relegation.... When can this be confirmed....conceeding late goal crippled Ferndales hopes of climbing out of bottom 3 & boys are on pins as to the future of the club....rumours of no relgation has been circulating but whencan this be confirmed?
